This past Saturday was the perfect SF day with a museum visit in the morning and then a blogger brunch at Hog & Rocks in the Mission District. We all got to sample generous portions of their new brunch menu, as well as their cocktail menu. I literally mean, one. of. each. item. It was an incredible feat, but I'd like to think that my brunch buddies and I held our own pretty well.
Chef Pierre Tumlin keeps it pretty simple with the dishes, and creates some insane flavors with brunch classics like chicken & waffles, farmer's scramble and shrimp & grits to name a few. My favorites from the feast had to be the French Toast Custard with banana rum caramel and candied pecans. (It's okay, I'm salivating at the thought too.) Paired with their version of Pimm's Cup and I'd call that an absolute perfect SF brunch.
